How are you all doing? It is a big question and a time of huge change. How are you navigating the waves?

Some days I feel like I am in the flow and other days I feel like I have been wiped out by a tsunami. Life as we know it has shifted and a lot of shit has come up. What is showing up? I have been sitting in some tender places that need healing and love. It can be overwhelming and this can be the very thing that helps us transition and upgrade the quality of life. As we move through this, clinging to the past ways is a challenge because of  uncertainty and fear.

Fear is part of being human and we have never lived through a time like this. Tuning in to what we are feeling is a powerful process, allowing us to be present with what needs attention. The illusion that we are in control is apparent, this can also be the motivation for us to re-parent and heal old wounds and mature. The color red is surfacing for me around outdated beliefs systems. What fears have been showing up for you around safety, stability, identity? There is root level, systemic change being activated. If you're familiar with the chakras “muladhara”  the root chakra is symbolized by red, blood, earth, and the courage to make changes that have been embedded in our belief systems before we could consciously choose them.

We are living through a Crisis of Covid and Racial pandemic. It is a turning point and a time of self-inquiry to unearth what needs healing to change old stories. It has been heartbreaking to witness illness, the loss of life, and the continuous murder of BIPOC by police brutality. Leadership has broken down and how we care for each other is up for a major review. There is a breakdown in the system and with hope it is breaking us open to heal the viruses that are keeping us in separation. Yoga is union, if you are a yogi the work on the mat keeps us awake to the internal changes we need to make toward liberation. None of us are truly free, if all of us are not free.

So what is this crisis waking up in you? How can you use this time to dismantle old belief systems that keep you distracted, living small, questioning your worth? I have been leaning in and learning about my privilege in new ways. What a potent time to unpack old baggage and lighten the load. Oppression keeps us powerless. Awakening to the systems that need changing within and with the external systems of power are necessary for the evolution of humanity. These are historical times, how do we want to come out the other side?

When I feel overwhelmed and unsure of myself, I return to my inner knowing; messiness is necessary for transformation. It is not neat, perfect, or easy. It takes work, commitment, and courage to show up. Apathy happens when we are exhausted and feel hopeless. Take the time to rest and ask for support if you need it.  All of our voices are needed to open a dialogue of change and be the leaders we want to see. Showing up in solidarity for equality and justice for all people is important, spiritual work. I hope you are taking good care of yourselves and may we take care of each other as we navigate the rough waters of change. This is some muddy times, and on the other side the Lotus will blossom.

In Truth and Love,

Mia
